AFFIXES WEBQUEST

Introduction
Today you will be playing games to learn some of the most common affixes ... An AFFIX is a prefix or a suffix.

Objectives
Today I will:
1. Explain the difference between a base word and a root word.
2. Name 5 of the most common prefixes and their meanings.
3. Name 5 of the most common suffixes and their meanings.
4. Determine the meaning of new words I find when these top 10 affixes are attached.

Task
Today you will be playing three prefix games and three suffix games.  Then you will take a quiz on each to see how much you've learned. My expectations are as follows as you progress through this lesson:
1. You stay on task for the entire time.
2. If you have a question - technology or related to affixes - you ask three before me.
3. You complete the entire webquest in the given amount of time.
4. You do not use any other websites, widgets, or games until you have completed the webquest.

Your steps
*Note: When you finish playing each game, make sure to click the BACK button. Be careful not to close your tab or window!
1. Download the Affixes power point->affixes Read through each slide. Keep it open to refer to if you need help!

Evaluation
You will earn a grade on your two assignments that you print out and for your effort. If you stay on task and work the entire period, plan on earning full credit for effort!
